Accelerating Humanitarian Energy Access Innovation Webinar
With 102 million people now forcibly displaced globally and 94% of displaced people living in camps without access to electricity, there is an urgent need for investment in clean energy solutions in humanitarian settings to achieve UN SDG 7: access to modern, clean, affordable energy for all by 2030.
Clean energy enterprises led by displaced people are making remarkable contributions to their communities, but they face considerable challenges accessing direct and flexible funding and too often, they are excluded from access to knowledge, information, and resources that could help them amplify their impact.
In this panel session you’ll hear from frontline clean energy initiatives creating change in their communities as well as the key international programs working to support them. Together, they’ll explore the impact of investment in humanitarian energy enterprises, the key barriers, and new opportunities for the humanitarian energy sector.
