China National Conference Set For Mid-May In Beijing
The Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves and the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of China and the Ministry of Agriculture are co-hosting the China National Cookstove and Fuels Conference on May 19-20, 2014 in Beijing, China.
The Alliance has partnered with the Ministry of Agriculture to conduct an in-depth China cookstove and fuels market assessment. The study identified regional variations in climate, geography, fuel availability and stove types currently being used in six geographically distinct provinces across the country. They are:
• Chongqing
• Gansu
• Henan
• Hubei
• Liaoning
• Shaanxi
Initial results from the assessment will be shared at the May conference. The findings and recommendations will be carried over to the 13th Five-Year Plan in shaping China’s next national clean stove program and other government stove policies.
