New Market Intelligence
The Alliance will facilitate the sharing of information and lessons learned through a community of practice that builds on sector success and continued innovation. In this process, knowledge about markets is critical for overcoming current barriers and spurring the adoption of clean cooking solutions and fuels.
As part of its commitment to create a thriving global market for clean cookstoves and fuels, the Alliance commissioned assessments of the cookstove and fuel markets in 16 countries. The assessments were conducted by Accenture Development Partnerships (ADP), the not-for-profit arm of the global management consultancy, and local consultants.
They are intended to provide a high level snapshot of the sector in these countries (based on mid-2012) that can then be used in conjunction with a number of research papers, consumer surveys and other sources to enhance sector knowledge and guide action at the country and regional level.
Executive Summaries of all the Alliance draft market assessments are available on the Alliance website, providing a substantive 'one-stop-shop' of information for anyone interested in making an investment in a given country or strengthening existing initiatives.
Draft Market Assessments have being completed in the following countries: Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, East Timor, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Indonesia, Mexico, Nigeria, Peru, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Vietnam. The Alliance is currently conducting peer-reviews of these market assessments. If you have any comments please send them to markets@www.cleancookstoves.org.
